Some of you apparently don’t live in foodie wastelands and can actually get a roast dinner delivered to them.
Perhaps I should have started this article a couple of weeks ago – but I was too heartbroken to do so.
Here, you can find a list of all places serving roast dinners during lockdown, that I am aware of.
I do not vouch for the quality of roast dinners listed here. Also this is only accurate at the time of writing – maybe some will stop during the coming weeks.
Please let me know any additions!
North London Lockdown Roasts
Jones & Son, Dalston. Delivery, pre-order preferred.
The Red Lion & Sun, Highgate. Collection.
Parlour, Kensal. Not entirely sure what they are doing – last week was just roast potatoes! Check their Instagrim.
Michael Nadra, Primrose Hill. Takeaway – pre-order required by Saturday 5pm.
The Beehive, Enfield. Takeaway/delivery.
The Stag, Belsize Park. Order before 9pm on Friday for collection. First come, first served kinda ting.
The White Horse, Harrow. Yes, Harrow. My hood of nothing good. Expect to hear more about this. Collection only I think.
The Hunter S, Dalston. Apparently there is a sign in the window advising that they are doing roasts. No social media and only a vague suggestion on their 19th century website. Maybe call them – 020 7249 7191.
The Island, Kensal Green. £55 for family roast (4 people) – ready to eat and they have chocolate brownies too. Collection – delivery coming soon.
The Kitchen E17, Walthamstow. Takeaway – and you can add cauliflower cheese or dessert too.
Daisy’s In The Park, Harrow. Only for those in Harrow. Ha! Sunday roast hamper for 2, £28. One of those cook your own things, and don’t get me started on the apostrophe.
The Forestor, Ealing. Takeaway carvery – not quite sure how a carvery works in lockdown times and I guess I’ll never find out! Call 020 8567 1654 to book a collection time.
The Gatehouse, Highgate. Collection, roasts are for two people – dessert and wine available too.
Madame Pigg, Dalston. One of the best roasts in London – click and collect is now available. If you can, do it.
Tapping The Admiral, Kentish Town. Pre-orders by 9pm on a Friday.
South London Lockdown Roasts
Coal Rooms, Peckham. Delivery within 2 miles or collection.
Pelton Arms, Greenwich. Collection – I think pre-order required.
The Dessert Deli, Clapham. 2 for £20, delivery – and I can vouch for her cooking and desserts which are top notch – in fact her cakes are close to pornographic. Might not be doing roasts every Sunday, so check before.
Tila, Deptford. Collection between 1-2pm only.
The Birds Nest, Deptford. Delivery and collection.
Ready 2 Roast, West Norwood. Don’t know anything about it – you have to join their Facebook group.
The Regent, Balham. Collection and delivery.
The Regent, Balham. Collection and delivery (within 3 miles of Balham). Quite a selection of options too.
The Sparrowhawk Pub, Crystal Palace. Collection.
The Pear Tree, Surrey Quays (ish). Collection I think. All served with amazing Yorkshire puddings so I’m told…alas I am unable to judge because I live in the foodie black hole of Harrow.
The Railway, Teddington. Collection I think.
Parks Edge Bar & Kitchen, Herne Hill. Collection or delivery within 2.5 miles. Order by Saturday, 9pm.
The Wheatsheaf, Tooting. I know nothing.
The Selkirk, Tooting. I love The Selkirk – at the time of writing doing chicken roasts for 2 or 4 people. Also selling cauliflower cheese and brownies. Collection only I think.
The Crooked Well, Camberwell. Takeaway.
East London Lockdown Roasts
The Angel of Bow, Bow. Collection.
Barge East, Hackney Wick. Delivery – perhaps slightly not bang on traditional Sunday roast but close enough!
The Nelson’s Pub, Hackney. Collection and booking advised before Sunday.
The Empress, Victoria Park. Collection only.
Yardarm, Leyton. Book in advance, collection only I think. Different meat each week and a veggie option.
Sabel – across London I think! Boxes from £30 with minimum order £45 – these are boxes of required ingredients so you need to do the cooking yourself.
Wolf & Lamb. Sunday Roast Box – £39.50 for chicken, £44.50 for beef or lamb.
I should probably clarify that Chicken Cottage don’t do roast dinner deliveries. Why the fuck do I live in Harrow?
