Ahhh west is best - and often there are some very good roast dinners in west London.

These are the current best roast dinners in west London:

The Harwood Arms, Fulham

Loved: Well, the Cote De Boeuf was sensational, the vegetables all excellent with different flavours, service superb and the yorkie was stuffed.

Loathed: The yorkie was burnt and overdone...but apart from that, such a top notch meal.

The Ladbroke Arms, Holland Park

Loved: The pork belly and cabbage were particularly sensational - like unimprovably superb. The roast potatoes and carrots were also excellent.

Loathed: Well...the Yorkie wasn't so good. Gravy I only liked as was more tomato-based than proper gravy.

The Fox & Pheasant, Chelsea

Loved: Everything really, but especially the smoky parsnip puree, great yorkie and most of the crackling.

Loathed: Erm...roast potatoes could have been crispier, but were still good.

The Dove, Hammersmith

Loved: One seriously excellent lamb shoulder shank, replete with hints of fennel too. Close to orgasmic. Perfect yorkie and mostly excellent vegetables too.

Loathed: Roast potatoes were acceptable but kind of under-cooked and anaemic.

The Duke Of Wellington, Notting Hill

Loved: Proper gravy, roasted potatoes, no microwave, ingredient ingenuity and herbs. Exquisite stuffing.

Loathed: The pig in blanket seemed slightly token and unremarkable.
